NKFL New Orleans tourney is Oct. 25 The 31st Annual New Orleans Invitational Golf Tournament will be held at Lakewood Golf Club on Oct. 25. Last year, the National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana raised over $200,000 with its golf tournaments. This is the final tournament of the year.The money raised went to meet the needs of Louisiana kidney patients. The tournament format is a four-man scramble. Teams may be composed of players of any ability. For those looking to punch their tickets to the National Finals at the Streamsong Resort (Florida) on March 30 – April 3 of next year, the team must have a combined USGA Handicap Index of 43 or more with only one member having an Index of 8.0 or less.All player Handicap Indexes will be verified before the tournament. The National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana is the Lakewood Golf Club in New Orleans only statewide voluntary non-profit health organization dedicated to preventing chronic kidney disease, improving the health and well-being of individuals affected by kidney disease and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation. The NKFL provides vital patient and community services, conducts extensive public and professional educational campaigns, advocates for patients through legislative action and supports local medical research. There are over 460,000 people living with kidney disease, over16,000 on life-saving dialysis and over 1,800 waiting for a life-saving kidney transplant in Louisiana.
