When the facility opened in 2004, Golf Digest named it the fourth-best upscale public course in the country. TPC Louisiana continues to land on national magazine’s best-in-state lists as well. John Ditch, who lives about an hour southwest of the course in Houma, got to play TPC Louisiana on re-opening weekend. “The course looks phenomenal! The wildlife was out in full force,” Ditch said.“TPC Louisiana is top notch and I see no reason why it should not stay among the top courses in the state.” Capouch echoced those statements. “Everybody has a favorite golf course in Louisiana, and rankings are opinions based on many factors,” Capouch said.“That being said,TPC Louisiana should always be considered one of the best in the state of Louisiana.” TPC is part of the 18-facility Audubon Golf Trail and there are discounts for Louisiana residents.The course features over 100 bunkers, including several large waste bunkers on the first six holes of the back nine.There are also a series of short and compelling par-4 holes.The five sets of tees (ranging from a 5,121 yards from the women’s tees all the way back to the 7,400 PGA Tour tees) offers golfers of all skill levels a great blend of challenge and playability.The signature hole is the par-5, 18th hole.Water is in play for the entire right side of the hole, making for a challenging finish for even the most seasoned golfer.
