Cover to Cover SANDUSKY LIBRARY WINTER/SPRING 2024 VOLUME 32, ISSUE 1 DIRECTOR'S UPDATE We start 2024 with a fresh exterior for the Library and Follett House Museum. In December, downtown visitors may have noticed a clearer view of the Library’s beautiful historic buildings. After having been enveloped by scaffolding for two years, the buildings were revealed following an extensive historic restoration. We thank the contributors to this successful capital preservation project – The City of Sandusky, HBM Architects, Frost Building Maintenance, Coon Restoration, and Forest Historical and Specialty Roofing. This project would not have been successful without their expertise, skills, and guidance. We are grateful to the following local foundations for their support: The Randolph J. and Estelle M. Dorn Foundation, Erie County Community Foundation, The Sidney Frohman Foundation, The Mylander Foundation, The Wightman-Wieber Charitable Foundation, and The Sandusky Library and Follett House Museum Foundation and their donors. This project would not have been possible without their investment. We are grateful to library staff, visitors, and neighbors for their patience and support throughout the process, and we appreciate the talent of New Departure Films in documenting this project for posterity. We look ahead to future projects that will further enhance the investment we have made in these historic treasures. In the meantime, we welcome you to visit us in the New Year to enjoy what the Library has to offer!
