Celebrating Toni Morrison BOOK DISCUSSION: The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison Saturday, February 18, at 1:00 p.m. Sandusky Library staff , discussion leader Celebrate Ohio's Toni Morrison Day with us as we read one of her most infl uential works and fi rst published novel, The Bluest Eye. Born in Lorain, OH, Toni Morrison authored many award winning novels such as The Bluest Eye, Song of Solomon, and Beloved, and became the fi rst Black woman to win the Nobel Prize in literature. Stop by the Library and learn more about this legendary Ohioan. (Exhibit provided by Lorain Public Library System) Iditarod Trail Talk Wednesday, March 1, at 6:00 p.m. Eleanor Csizmadia, Iditarod enthusiast, presenter This week marks the start of this year's Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Iditarod enthusiast and attendee Eleanor Csizmadia will share her own personal photos, videos and years of research and following the race to educate audiences on everything from sled dog race history to the race's dynamics and rules. Beach Glassin' Thursday, April 13, at 6:00 p.m. Shea Alltmont, presenter Find out about this relaxing and intriguing hobby, fi nding hidden treasures along the shores of Lake Erie, or if you're already a beach glass or beach combing enthusiast, learn more about this passion for glassin'.
