Celebrating George Washington Carver Saturday, February 18, at 2:30 p.m. Sandusky Library staff , presenter Explore the interesting life of George Washington Carver, known as the peanut man, through stories, crafts, games, and science activities. Warning: real peanuts will be used during this program. Leap into Science Week February 21 - 25 To celebrate Leap Into Science Week, the Library will be giving away COSI Connects Nature Kits. Mini Art Show Canvas Pickup: February 15-28 Art Show Display: March 1 - 31 Children may pick up a mini canvas from the Children's Department starting February 15. Feel free to be as creative as possible and decorate your canvas with anything you would like. Please return the canvas to the Children's Department by 8:00 p.m. on March 1, 2023 to be included in the Second Annual Mini Art Show in celebration of Youth Art Month. Sensory Party with Help Me Grow Tuesday, March 7, at 10:30 a.m. Join presenters from Help Me Grow for a variety of sensory activities. Children ages birth through 3 will use all their senses as they explore these stations. Siblings aged 5 and under are welcome. Sunshine Week: March 13-18 In celebration of Sunshine Week and National Freedom of Information Day our Storytimes for the week will off er a sunny theme and we will also have sunshine activities available for you to do in the Children's Department. Sunshine Week promotes open government and access to public information and is designed to include National Freedom of Information Day (March 16). National Freedom of Information Day celebrates the Rights that are promised to all Americans under the First Ammendment.
