Beginning January 3, the Library will open at 9:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday. New resource available... We are pleased to announce extended hours in the New Year! Eff ective January 3, the Library is open at 9:00, Monday through Saturday. Opening earlier adds six more services hours a week, providing more opportunities to utilize library resources. more details inside. We are excited to welcome Susan Spivey as our new Adult Services Manager! Prior to joining the Sandusky Library, Susan Spivey spent 15 years with the Lorain Public Library System. Most recently, she managed the Main Branch and had previously served as the Branch Manager in Columbia Township and as an Adult Services Librarian at the North Ridgeville Branch. Her favorite things are good books, hiking and the Cleveland Guardians. Ms. Spivey is looking forward to getting to know the community and providing the resources that allow all residents to enrich their lives. The CLEVNET Consortium recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary. On December 1, 1982, the fi rst library joined Cleveland Public Library in sharing its automation system. Since then, CLEVNET has grown to include 47 libraries in twelve counties of northern Ohio. Sandusky Library became its ninth member in 1984. Forty years later, the greater celebration might be for the proven value of library cooperation. An independent study completed in 2022 revealed that every $1 spent on libraries in CLEVNET yields $19 of direct service to the public. CLEVNET provides an astonishing 19:1 Returnon-Investment! In addition to saving the public money as a member of CLEVNET, Sandusky Library is also a resource for funding possibilities through the Foundation Directory Online. Individuals and nonprofi t organizations can explore available grant opportunities with just a visit to the Library!
