Family Programs Family Fun National Astronomy Day Exploration Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Join us throughout the Library to explore National Astronomy Day activities for adults and children. Volunteers from the Richland Astronomical Society and the Black River Astronomical Society will guide us through activity tables, solar observing, astronomy displays, a telescope display and special exhibits. Outdoor activities dependent upon weather. The Scale of the Universe Saturday, May 3, at 11:00 a.m. In recognition of National Astronomy Day join NASA Solar System Ambassador Bill Reed for this program that explores The Scale of the Universe. Obstacle Course Wednesday, July 2, at 10:00 a.m. Join Brigette from Waves-N-Wellness for a fun family obstacle course to get you moving! Read with Riley’s Angels Wednesday, July 9, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Come to the Youth Service Department and read to a therapy dog! Trolls Movie Fun Friday, July 11, at 10:00 a.m. Visit the Library to Dog Man Movie Saturday, June 14, at 10:00 a.m. Come visit the Library to watch the Dog Man movie and complete fun activities based on the movie & books! Riley's Angels Saturday, June 28, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Come into the Youth Serivces department to read to therapy dogs! Crafty-Noon Monday, June 16 and July 28, at 2:00 p.m. Drop in to the Library between 2 & 3 p.m. to create a fun craft! These family events require registration as space is limited. Build with The Home Depot Wednesday, July 16, at 2:00 p.m. Join us to build something fun with The Home Depot! Soil Painting with Erie Conservation District Thursday, July 17, at 2:00 p.m. Join us for an afternoon of fun! We will be painting with soil with the Conservation District! Whose Scat is That? with Erie Metroparks Friday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m. Learn all about scat with a naturalist from Erie MetroParks. Learn how animals' diets impact their scat and make pretend "scat". participate in fun & colorful activities based on the Trolls movie. Color Our World with Toledo Zoo Tuesday, July 29 at 9:30 & 10:30 a.m Join The Toledo Zoo to see the role color plays in the lives of animals around the world! Learn some of the science behind animal coloration and how animals see colors differently than we do, and even make some art of your own! Color Our World with Music Friday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m. Join Jody Chaffee from the Firelands Symphony Orchestra to explore a rainbow of instruments, colorful music, and create a musical craft to take home.
