Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, presenter This program will include a biographical sketch of Rutherford B. Hayes as it details his youth, early career, war experience, political life, and post-presidency. In the beginning it was smaller, more personable, and less crowded. The modern Halloweekends are sometimes the busiest days of the season for Cedar Point. Meet with local author and Cedar Point historian Ken Miller as he goes through the development and changes of this special event. Battle of Stones River Tuesday, December 19, at 12:00 p.m. Jim Lewis, Park Ranger, Stones River National Battlefield, presenter The Battle of Stones River is one of the most important battles in the history of Ohio in the Civil War. There were more soldiers from Ohio there than from any other state. This program will talk about the Battle of Stones River and role that the Ohio units played in it. Brewers, Winemakers, and Cigar Makers Cemetery Walk Thursday, October 5, at 2:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, at 10:00 a.m. On this Cemetery Walk we will be talking about some of the early brewers, winemakers, and cigar makers in Sandusky. As this is a walking tour, wear appropriate shoes and outerwear. Be prepared to stand or walk for at least an hour. Death and Dying in the Victorian Era Monday, October 30, at 6:30 p.m. People of the Victorian Era were fascinated by death and everything that surrounded it. This led to many different kinds of traditions and practices that revolved around death. Learn about the traditions they observed when it came to death and dying. Follett House Museum Holiday Open House Friday, November 24, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, from 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. Join us for one of Sandusky’s treasured traditions.
