Banned Camp October 2 - 5, at 3:00 p.m. Celebrate Banned Books week by joining our Banned Camp Festivities. Activities related to each day's book or author will be available. Gather round our campfire and explore Banned Books from our Children's Department. Banned Camp Take and Makes October 6 - 7, All Day Stop by the Children's Department to pick up a packet of activities that you can complete at home related to Banned Books from the Children's Department. Celebrating National Good Neighbor Day with Daniel Tiger Thursday, September 28, from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Please, won't you be my neighbor? September 28 is National Good Neighbor Day, drop in anytime between 9:30 a.m. and Noon to participate in Daniel Tiger related activities and make a card or coloring sheet to give to your neighbors. Play. Learn. Grow. Tuesdays at 10:45 a.m. October 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 Moms, Dads, Grandparents, and Caregivers! This program is all about PLAY! Children birthages 3 years will have an opportunity to play with a variety of age-appropriate toys. Siblings up to age 5 are welcome. Leap Into Science: Balance Wednesday, October 25, at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 3 through 8 will explore balance through books and hands-on STEAM activities. T-Rex Tea Party Saturday, November 4, at 10:00 a.m. Do Dinosaurs Drink Tea? Find out at our T-Rex Tea Party while we play and make dino themed games & crafts and also learn some dinosaur etiquette! Pete the Cat Sensory Fun with Help Me Grow Tuesday, November 14, at 10:00 a.m. Get ready for literacy and sensory fun with a Help Me Grow program all about Pete the Cat! Best for ages 0-5. Can you find Elsie the Library Elf? Elsie will be returning! Stop by Children’s Services December 1 - 21 to find her each day for a chance to win a prize. New Year’s at Noon Party Saturday, December 31, at 11:30 a.m. Happy 2024! Count down to the New Year at a kid-friendly time. We will have snacks, crafts, and a countdown in the Children's Department. AFTERSCHOOL SNACKS In partnership with The Sandusky Library is partnering with the Children’s Hunger Alliance to provide FREE afterschool snacks to all children up to age 18. Beginning September 5, 2023, snacks will be distributed Monday thru Friday from 4:00-4:45 p.m. in the Frohman Room. Each snack contains items from each of the 5 MyPlate food groups.
