Cover to Cover SUMMER 2023 VOLUME 31, ISSUE 2 DIRECTOR'S UPDATE All Together Now! We celebrate summer reading this year with a theme of unity, working together to promote literacy. We encourage students to keep reading all summer by signing up for this annual reading event and attending programs in June and July. This self-paced reading module is offered to all ages online. Anyone can participate even when not able to visit the library. We are excited to offer an expansive array of summer programs for adults this year and parents can read right along with their children. The Library launched a new service Books By Mail in 2023 for persons who are temporarily or permanently homebound. Eligible persons may fill out an application to request this service. Once registered, homebound persons can receive their favorite books delivered to their front door! If you are interested in the service, please call the Library at 419-625-3834 and press 7 to receive an application. The sailboat The Golden Rule will visit Sandusky in late summer. We welcome you to come learn about the storied history and important message of this peace vessel, a project of Veterans for Peace. The Library will host a program about The Golden Rule on Tuesday, August 1, at 6:00 p.m. Lastly, the Library and the Follett House Museum will be closed Thursday, August 17, for a staff in-service day. We look forward to seeing you this summer! Molly Carver Executive Director ...giving all people opportunities to enrich their lives. Find our Black History in Sandusky exhibit on Jackson St. Pier during Sandusky's Juneteenth celebration. Thanks to a funding partnership through the Erie County Community Foundation, Sandusky Library provides on-site access to the Foundation Directory Online. The Foundation Directory is a valuable resource to individuals and nonprofit organizations seeking grants by providing access to information about available grants and grantors across the country.
