Thank you for sharing your stories of giving, your motivations for giving and your dreams for the future of Regional One Health. Thank you for inspiring all of us.” In this season of thanksgiving, I thank each of you. You are making Memphis healthier, you are saving the lives of people you have never met and you are improving our community one donation at a time. I am constantly amazed by what our Regional One Health doctors and staff can do to save lives. But even with the best medical talent, there are so many things that we could not do without you — our donors. This edition of ONEpulse will showcase some of the amazing things that happen because of you. Donors to our 2017 ONE Night Gala gave enough money to allow us to upgrade our operating rooms. Because of their generosity, our patients will receive even more efficient care when seconds count. Many donors contribute to our high risk obstetrics program and our newborn intensive care unit. They are literally helping our physicians save the most vulnerable lives, babies. Like many families, Gary and Kelly Parrish never thought they would be in the kind of scary situation a high risk pregnancy brings. Because our donors help us invest in training and equipment, our team of doctors and nurses were able to react swiftly and confidently saving both Kelly and baby Louis. In my role, I get to hear your stories, what motivates you to give, and why you support different areas of care. I know that your stories are moving and powerful illustrations of the impact of everyday heroes. In our Donor Feature, we share King and Deborah Johnson’s story of giving motivated by their deep commitment to our community. I hope you too will find these everyday heroes as inspiring as I do. At the end of this issue, we present our annual Honor Roll of Donors. We are all humbled to see so many names on that list. If we have not had the opportunity to thank you in person, please drop us a line. We’d love to give you a tour of our facilities or talk with you over coffee to learn your story of giving. I can’t say it enough, thank you.
