The team had a good year in spite of the small number of people that went out for the sport. Senior George Zach was the highlight of Prairie's cross country team this year. George set a new school record of 9:41 in the two-mile run, which was formerly set in 1968 by Bill Kurtz at 10:08. The first state qualifier from Prairie ever, George, placed 23rd out of 800 at the state cross country meet.
