land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bead: for why should we die in thy presence? For the money faileth. And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail. And they brought their cattle unto Joseph: and Joseph gave them bread [in exchange] for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year.” What does this show us, it shows us that money failed, and will always continue failing and yet we know that Jesus [the Bread of Life] never failed, therefore why attach failure to the Gospel. It is true that money is necessary for the running of the activities of God, however that should not be the excuse for manipulating or coercing people into funding Church activities, as we all know that God provides by His own way and not the worldly or man`s way.
