[ACTS 12:2] as the rulers [Leaders] were and are still influenced by the deception of religion, this they and have always done to many saints, remember they did it even to Jesus Christ, saying that He had blasphemed God and Moses. What does this show to us, remember throughout all the Scriptures Jesus was bitter at religion and religious leaders, this means that they have another god they are serving and not the Living God, because they could boldly crucify Him just because He had blasphemed their god, and not the Living God. It is a choice for one to choose either to walk in this blindness or believe in the Living God and Him alone. We see that when the Holy Spirit came as promised by Jesus Christ to His disciples, persecution was sparked off like never before, however thanks be to God that they had a boldness to stand it and go through it.
