So beyond John the Baptizer baptizing Jesus Christ for the confirmation that He was the Christ, and calling people to repent [change of mind for the better], this very baptism was a signification of His [Jesus`] death and resurrection as we see that one is immersed in water and then lifted up. In Jesus accepting to be baptized by John, He subjected Himself to the order of things (He respected the process of things), this was more of submission, it should be noted that submission is not weakness. 41
