Memphis Botanic Garden 750 Cherry Road Memphis, TN 38117-4699 MEMPHIS BOTANIC GARDEN ANNUAL REPORT NOURISH OUR GROWTH! 2019

Memphis Botanic Garden Annual Report 2018-19 DONATE TODAY DEAR FRIENDS OF THE GARDEN, Dear Friends of the Garden, Growing a Living Campus in the Heart of Memphis is our daily focus here at the Memphis Botanic Garden. Contained within these pages are the pictures, stories and statistics that describe life here at The Garden. Ours is a beautiful, busy and always growing place! From a Board of Directors and senior management perspective, we have spent much of this past year planning for the Garden’s future. After adopting a new strategic plan in 2018, we began to implement it this year. A major part of this implementation was the launch of our Nourish Greenprint: 2021 capital campaign. This campaign has a goal of $6,000,000 and as of this writing we are about 70% of the way toward meeting our goal. Already, some of the fruits of this labor are beginning to take shape. We recently opened a new Urban Home Demonstration Garden while expanding our Delta Heritage Garden (see page 5). We are now in the process of increasing our parking capacity by over 20% to meet the needs of members, guests, rental clients and more. These are just three of up to 14 projects we have identified for significant investment with 50% of the funds generated by our capital campaign. The other 50% of raised funds will go to establish new reserve funds, which, when combined with our endowment, will help secure the long-term financial viability of the Garden for generations to come. We would love your support of this effort and please use the enclosed envelope to make your contribution. Sincerely, We grow when you give! 2019 was another year of tremendous growth at the Garden. Your generosity allowed the Garden to expand our offerings and impact over 230,000 guests. This would not be possible without your support. Please help us expand upon this successful year with a meaningful year end donation. Donations can be made online at memphisbotanicgarden.com/donate or through the enclosed envelope. The entire amount of your contributions may be treated as a charitable donation for federal income tax purposes, since no goods or services were provided to you in consideration of your gift.
