Behind the Brand BETH BALDWIN baldy designs Baldy Designs in Officer, Victoria, was a business born from necessity and adoration. Beth Baldwin explains, “I was in need of a new pencil case for school. As an Arts and Textiles teacher, I found I had a lot to carry for my subjects and couldn't find anything to suit my needs. So I developed this pouch with handles, that I could sling over my arm whilst carrying my pile of books, equipment and laptop from classroom to classroom. “I received compliments that, I'll be honest, I didn't take seriously. This was just something I made that to me was no big deal. The encouragement from my friends and family grew with some even questioning why I was still teaching. This gave me the confidence to start my business. I refined my prototype, created pattern templates and streamlined processes. And Baldy Designs was born.” Baldy Designs aims to give customers a product that is versatile, fun and most importantly supports local makers.
