Behind the Brand MODERN MONTY meg stubberferfield and kel vin burrage Modern Monty was founded by Mumma and Papa team Meg and Kelvin. Its inspiration was their little man, born late in 2015. Meg has a degree in Applied Science and Psychology, along with 12 years working in psychology, mental health and clinical governance. Her knowledge of children’s development and learning theories has helped to ensure the products are engaging and educational. Kelvin has a background in professional landscape photography and his artist’s eye for detail ensures the final product and packaging is beautiful and eye catching. Modern Monty’s range of luxe, boutique, educational toys, puzzles and games are classic toys and educational products, reimagined to encourage a deep connection with the natural world from a young age. “We believe it’s important for children to learn about and appreciate nature”, says Meg. “We intend our nature products to nurture little conservationists”. Part of Modern Monty’s mission is to provide fun, educational products that will keep kids entertained and support connection with family and friends. Games and puzzles can be used alone as well as prompting quality family time. Manufacturers are FSC certified, meaning they operate in an environmentally, economically and socially responsible way. All efforts are made to utilise natural and organic materials where possible and Modern Monty are proud to offer a range of earth friendly products. Shipping materials are biodegradable. Modern Monty offers attention to detail and quality with products Meg and Kelvin consider to be of heirloom quality. Luxurious packaging makes them ideal for gift giving. Products feature stunning original art by Australian artist Amanda Borchers who is a dear friend to Meg and they work together closely on every product. “Her art is just amazing and I am blown away by her talent every time she sends us a new completed work”, Meg says.
