Residents are encouraged to attend LACDD (Lake Wales) and LAIICDD (Winter Haven) Board of Supervisors meetings to ensure they are staying up to date with current issues and projects throughout the community. If you are unable to attend in person a Zoom link is sent out a week prior and the morning of the meeting. LA TIMES SUBMISSIONS The website form is now required for LA Times article submissions. Scan to submit articles and images or visit http://lakeashtoncdd.com/submit-anarticle. The District media policy can also be found on the website and submission form. 6 To maintain consistent, accurate, accessible, and professional communications, the District does not publish or distribute resident-created flyers, graphics, advertisements, or other promotional materials through District Media. Residents, clubs, groups, and organizations may submit information regarding eligible community events, activities, announcements, or programs for consideration in accordance with the District Media Policy and applicable submission guidelines. If approved, District staff will determine the appropriate format, wording, design, and method of distribution. For email blasts, submitted flyers and graphics will not be distributed as images. Information will be converted to text to support accessibility for screen readers and assistive technology. Text-based content also allows residents to search emails by keyword and provides greater functionality across devices. District staff will determine the appropriate wording and format for inclusion. Submitted flyers or graphics may be used as a reference for event details but will not be published or distributed as submitted. District staff may create or format promotional materials using the information provided, as appropriate. This policy applies to all District Media, including, but not limited to, email blasts, newsletters, websites, digital displays, social media, and other District-managed communication channels.
