EVENTS Wow, what a week! Residents had a great time at Camp Lake Ashton this year. Activities ranged from playing corn hole and ping pong to learning how to plant an eco-system in a jar and it all was made possible by our sponsors; AdventHealth, Performance Golf Carts, Iceberg Home Services, Spring Lake Rehab Center, and Freedom Health: Medicare. A very special thanks goes out to all of our Volunteer Camp Counsellors for helping make this week possible by either teaching activities or helping with set-up and clean-up of the activities. This year’s camp award winners are: Happiest Camper: Marianne Zak Camp Jitterbug: Pam McGuire, Ed Commons, Phil Hines Crafty Camper: Jill Groves Camp Cut-Up: Jeffro Wagner Campers of the Week: Blaze & Kerry Giebler September 28 The strength of our community is built on the simple ways we support each other every day. True community begins with connection — a wave, a smile, or a friendly chat that helps turn strangers into neighbors. Extending an invitation to share in activities, whether it’s a walk, a cup of coffee, or a neighborhood gathering, brings people together. We grow closer through celebration of milestones, holidays, and successes that remind us we’re part of something bigger than ourselves. With awareness, we watch out for one another, keeping an eye on each other’s homes and well-being. And by offering our availability, we show that when help is needed, a neighbor can always be counted on. Together, these simple acts create neighborhoods that are not only safe and welcoming, but also truly connected. FALL FESTIVAL This year’s festivities will be held November 1 from 2 pm to 5 pm in the west parking lot and will help raise money for Alzheimer’s Awareness in partnership with Team Sam, LA resident Judy Puntuerri’s team. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the beer bucket specials from Charm City and tunes provided by resident DJ George Pollock. Stay tuned for the list of dunkees and more information to come!
