LALGA By Lydia Fichtman The fall calendar is out and opening day is set for Tuesday, November 16! Mark your calendars! But if you are a snowbird, you don’t want to miss out on the first tournament of the season. Come back early and participate in The Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Golf Tournament set for November 9 at 9 am. Once again, both courses will be in play and again, a Hole-in-One could win you a brand new car! Also, a pre-tournament cocktail party is planned for Saturday evening, November 6 at the Eagle’s Nest from 4 to 6 pm, with music, hors d’oeuvres and of course, adult beverages. The committee is looking for sponsors and donors. Please contact Kim Kutsch at jkkutsch@gmail.com or Lydia Fichtman at Lydia.fichtman@gmail.com if you would like to be a sponsor or have anything you would like to donate as a raffle or silent auction item. Last year, the tournament donated over $25,000 to the Watson Clinic Foundation and is hoping to match that this year. But it can’t be done alone — your help is needed! Please consider sponsoring the event in some way to help eradicate this disease. Meet Dawn Neigh Dawn moved to Lake Ashton five years ago. Or iginal ly f rom Michigan, Dawn is a retired 3rd grade teacher. She met her husband of 46 years, Ken, at a movie theater. They hit it off and were married. They have two daughters. Dawn loves riding motorcycles and rode a Honda 1300 wearing leather pants, a helmet, etc. She and Ken have ridden from Michigan to Mt. Rushmore and Michigan to Nova Scotia. She absolutely loves riding but sold her motorcycle when she moved to Florida — too afraid of the way the Floridians drove on the roads! Dawn was totally done with snow and upon moving to Florida she and Ken first rented for a year in Cypress Woods. They then drove in to Lake Ashton and in 2015 moved to Hogan Lane. They fell in love with the community. Dawn has been playing golf “forever” and first joined the golf association during the summer session to see if she liked it. She then joined the Niners and then recently the LALGA. She finds the ladies of the LALGA “fantastic!” You may hear Dawn up on the tee box. She likes to say out loud “Swing through, drive.” This reminds her to follow through with her drive. Welcome Dawn! The LALGA is delighted you decided to join.
