SECURITY TRANSITION UPDATE Distribution is taking place at the Clubhouse (Lake Wales Residents) and the Health and Fitness Center (Winter Haven Residents). Take a look at the insert for the schedule for more information on scheduling. A big thank you to all of the volunteers assisting staff with distribution at both locations. This process would not be as smooth without your help! Residents are reminded that each household receives up to two (2) RFID tags and Amenity Access Cards per household but not more than one (1) per resident. Additional RFID tags and Amenity Access Cards can be purchased for $10 each once residency is verified. There have been several questions about how RVs will be handled. RV owners are encouraged to work with staff to coordinate RFID tag distribution with when you are going on your next trip. RV owners that live in Lake Wales will go to the Clubhouse. RV owners that live in Winter Haven will go to the Health and Fitness Center (HFC). The week of October 29-31 is dedicated to credential distribution for RV owners that live in Lake Wales. If this time is not convenient for you please contact staff to set up alternative accommodations. The gate clicker system will be in place through the end of the year to allow all residents an opportunity to come in and register for their RFID tags. We are here to make this transition as seamless as possible for all residents so please let us know how we can help. Thank you to the many residents that have helped make this a positive transition so far. We appreciate the smiling faces and jokes along the way. It helps to have a positive attitude when tackling change and this is a change for Supervisors, staff, and residents. Contact Christine at cwells@lakeashtoncdd.com for Lake Wales residents and Karen VanKirk at maintenance@lakeashtoncdd.com for Winter Haven residents with any questions. WELCOME TO LA! New residents of Lake Ashton can sign up at either Activities Desk or online for New Resident Orientation November 1 in the HFC Community Center at 2 pm. New residents can also stop by the 8 Clubhouse or HFC during operating hours to receive a welcome packet, sign up for community-wide emails, and more. HOW TO SAVE A L I FE Clubhouse Staff went through CPR/AED training in July and all are now certified for 2 years. There is an AED located in the main hallway of the Clubhouse, near the restrooms, and also on the roving golf cart. Over 20 residents attended the CCC/AED class offered by Polk County Fire Rescue in September. If you missed this one, don't worry — residents will have another opportunity to attend a class in February 2025.
