GENEALOGY CLUB By Jane Imparl Join us for another fun session while we look for our ancestors and make friends with each other along the way. We will meet Wednesday, October 9 at 2 pm in the HFC Craft Room. The session will consist of learning different research techniques and "tricks" to help us find those elusive family members. SINGLES CLUB By Carol Corley The Singles Club at Lake Ashton meets for cards every Sunday at 2 pm in the Clubhouse, usually the Ballroom, but if it has been previously booked, we have another space. We are together until a bit after 4 pm, then many go out together for dinner, locations rotate. Cards are weekly, but the first Sunday of each month starts with a meeting, then cards. We play 5 Crown, but we welcome other games. We also plan parties and are working out something for Halloween. Our club also gets together one Thursday a month at 4 pm at the Pavilion to share snacks and our own drinks — we bring what we would like to share. We hope the singles among you will join us. LA DEMOCRATIC CLUB By Paul Ritz The Lake Ashton Democratic Club is holding their monthly meeting October 3 in-person only at HFC Community Center. Social time with snacks will be from 6 to 6:30 pm. Also, LARC is hosting the movie Hillbilly Elegy, based on the NY Times bestselling memoir by VP candidate JD Vance on Sunday, October 20 at 1 pm in the LA Cinema. Everyone is welcome. The Magic Years Club is open to all those Disney lovers who would like to share their enjoyment with others who are like-minded. We welcome new members as well as those who are returning. The meetings are held on the second Monday of the month (October 14 this month) at 7 pm in the HFC Craft Room. We also have a Facebook page, Lake Ashton Disney Lovers, where we share new happenings at WDW as well as interesting information we have found on other sites. We would love to have you join and share your knowledge. DUPLICATE BRIDGE By Don Fuller & Liz Leigh Duplicate bridge is played on Monday at 12:45 pm in the Clubhouse Card Room. The game is open to all residents regardless of skill level. Participants should have some experience playing bridge plus a partner is required. We have approximately 60 players in the group and can assist new players in finding a partner.
