CLUBS LA BELLES By Rose Crognale The LA Belles Halloween Luncheon will be held on October 27 at 12:30 pm at Sizzling Grill on Route 27 in Lake Wales. Costumes are encouraged but not required. The Belles will be able to choose from Sizzling Grill’s large menu selections and will be billed separately. By Carl Boast When a Bocce ball rests touching the Pallino it is called a Baci and scores two points. This happens 34 i n f r e q u e n t l y b u t consistently during matches played at Lake Ashton. When TWO balls of the same color come to rest on the Pallino it is an even rarer event and scores 4 points. Recently, Sil Wells, who took up the game earlier this year, accomplished this rare Double Baci! A Double Baci has not been recorded at Lake Ashton since Vern Frahm made one in January. Bocce games are played Mon, Wed, & Friday at 10:30 am.
