LAKE ASHTON’S AMAZING GOLF CART RACE It’s back and better than before! It’s not just a race. It’s not just a competition. It’s a challenge! So save the date for November 18 at noon. Race against time and complete challenges along the way, just like the Amazing Race on television. Tasks will be a combination of recreational, mental, and observational. Something all ages and genders can do and enjoy. Communication and working together is the key for teams to see who will win the ultimate golf cart challenge. Although all teams will face the same challenges, all will not be doing them simultaneously. You won’t know how your team is doing until the end. The race should last about two hours after a brief instructional meeting. There are prizes for top finishing teams. The challenge is limited to 16 teams, so sign up early at the Clubhouse Activities Desk. Teams can be two to four members. Sign up as a team, or an individual to be placed on a team. 5K TURKEY TROT Come join fellow runners, walkers, and bike riders for a 5K Tu r k e y Tr o t ! ( 3 . 1 m i l e s November 22 at Lake Ashton! The course will be the closed golf course golf cart path beginning at 8 am. Money raised will go to the Lake Wales Care Center for their Christmas Toy Drive. This keeps all donations local for those in need. COMING UP AT THE CLUBHOUSE: LA PURPLE STARS CHILI/SOUP COOK OFF JANUARY 28, 2022 All runners, walkers and bike riders who enter will be provided a medal to show your support for this fundraiser. If you aren’t at Lake Ashton on November 22, you may still register and do the 5K virtually from wherever you are. Once you return to Lake Ashton, you will receive your medal and bib. T h e registration fee is $25 (please make checks payable to Lake Ashton Golf Management) and includes a Numbered Bib, Medal and Donation to the Lake Wales Care Center. Registration Forms are available at the Clubhouse and HFC. Deadline to register is October 10 so that the medals may be minted and the numbered bibs are ordered and received on time. 26 26
