With the population at Lake Ashton increasing residents should be mindful of the changes in traffic at Lake Ashton. Many residents are out and about enjoying the cooler temps and lower humidity and should be able to do so in a safe environment. The time change on November 2 will bring darkness earlier than past months. Be sure to be prepared and wear reflective clothing or bring a flashlight along if walking at dusk or later. On October 20, Supervisors met to attend to board matters. A wrap up report was sent out with additional actions taken at the meeting. Residents are encouraged to attend board meetings to keep up with what is going on in your community. Visit your CDD websites by scanning the left QR code to access https:// www.lakeashtoncdd.com, and the right QR code to visit https:// www.lakeashton2cdd.org. Supervisors and Staff would like to wish residents a Happy Thanksgiving. Don't forget to stop by the Clubhouse Foyer to add what you are thankful for to our "Thankful Board". In this edition of the LA Times, residents will find many opportunities to celebrate the upcoming holidays and give back to the communities surrounding Lake Ashton. Be sure to get your tickets to the Friendsgiving Thanksgiving Community Potluck, support Alzheimer's research by making donations at the Fall Festival on November 1, and donate food items to The Mission of Winter Haven and Lake Wales Care Center during the Thanksgiving food drive November 3 to 14. Residents will also note that many clubs are resuming monthly meetings. Stop by the Activities Office and see Caroline to get more info on how to join some of the clubs advertised. All Clubs are open to all residents. If your experience is anything other than that please contact Christine at cwells@lakeashtoncdd.com. Supervisors and Staff are thankful for all of the facilitators at Lake Ashton and want to ensure all residents are welcomed by the leaders and members of the active 280 clubs, whether they just moved here or have lived at Lake Ashton 20 years. NEW HANDICAP PARKING SPOT An additional handicapped accessible parking space was added to the Clubhouse East Parking Lot. Please do not park on the striping that was installed. These striped areas are meant to be unobstructed to allow direct access to the door for those parking in these spots. 8
