LA (LW) HOA CORNER By Deanne Mayne Greetings from the LW HOA! If you haven’t yet signed up for an account with Stambaugh please do so at your earliest convenience. The HOA member portal is lakeashtonhoa.org where you can register for your account. If you have not yet signed up, you may be missing notices that the HOA sends out as reminders or pertinent information residents need to know. Please note that the October meeting was moved to November 11 at 4:30 pm in the Clubhouse Craft Room. ARC members are available the third Wednesday of the month (November 19th) in the clubhouse card room at 3:30. If you have questions for ARC or need assistance with requests, several committee members will be available to help. This is becoming a popular event! Related to ARC: ANY changes to the outside of your home need ARC approval. Do not assume you can “ask for forgiveness” if the home modification does not adhere to the ARC guidelines. This can be a very costly mistake. In November, Compliance will focus on landscape beds and paint. Darker paint colors are more susceptible to fading and may need painting more often than lighter colors. Compliance is also looking at yard art. Yard art items are limited to five in the Front Yard, five in the Rear Yard, and five in each Side Yard. Many front yards have more than what is allowed. Also, keep in mind the size restrictions for yard art. Statues and figurines are considered yard art and shall be no more than four feet in height. Yard art must be no larger than twenty inches in a horizontal diameter at the widest point as displayed. Yard art taller than twelve inches must be at least seven feet from the street curb. The Board of Directors welcomed Charles Roland as a new board member at the September meeting. The Board is still in need of a volunteer for one more open Director position. Please consider helping the HOA keep Lake Ashton the wonderful community that we call home. LA HOA Board Members • John Donahue, President and ARC Director president@lakeashtonhoa.org 17 • Dee Mayne, Secretary & Compliance Director sec2@lakeashtonhoa.org • Glen Hart, Director vp2@lakeashtonhoa.org • Charles Roland, Board Member • ARC: ARC@lakeashtonHOA.org • Compliance: compliance@lakeashtonHOA.org SAFEGUARD STORM DRAINS Please do not place yard debris and clippings on top or near stormwater inlets (as shown here). This could get into the stormwater system causing damage or clogging the system which could lead to localized flooding. The District, made up of Lake Ashton residents, are responsible for the maintenance of the stormwater system within Lake Ashton so damages come out of the budget which is largely funded by resident assessments. Let’s all work together to extend the life of our infrastructure.
