2024 SHOWCASE INFORMATIONAL MEETING By Karen Nelson Counting the days until Thursday, November 9 at 1 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom, when the Informational Meeting for the 2024 Showcase, presented by Lake Ashton Performing Arts Corporation, will take place. This meeting is open to all Lake Ashton residents wishing to participate in the annual Showcase: singers, dancers, comedians, carpenters, costumers, and production, backstage, box office, audio, lighting talent , or learn new talents!The dates for the 2024 Showcase are March 22 and 23, 2024. LAPAC is looking forward to another Show filled with Lake Ashton talent! CHRISTMAS DINNER DANCE The Christmas Dinner Dance on December 1 is sold out, but you can visit the Clubhouse Activities Office to put your name on a waitlist. As a reminder, the Clubhouse Ballroom doors open at 5 pm, and a cash bar will be ready to serve while we gather to socialize. Come dressed in your finest Christmas outfit, take some photos, and be ready to celebrate. Live music will be provided until 10 pm by B.Haven, one of Central Florida’s premier bands. HOLIDAY GOLF CART PARADE By Carolyn Bishop It’s that time of year again, time to start pulling down the decorations and adorning your golf cart with Holiday Cheer! Golf carts, bicycles, pets, clubs and organizations, specialty cars and walkers are all welcome to participate on December 15. Lineup begins at 5:30 pm at the HFC and parade kicks off at 6, ending at the Clubhouse, where there will be light refreshments. The route will go 28 from the HFC along Pebble Beach Blvd, turn right on Torrey Pines then left on Dunmore, right on Limerick then right on Dunmore again. Right on Ashton Club Blvd to the Clubhouse. CHRISTMAS CAROL-OKE By Cheryl Winchester Don’t miss out on an evening full of holiday spirit and entertainment December 16 from 7 to 10 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. LAPAC would like everyone to join us for free — this is our way of giving back to the Lake Ashton community for always supporting our endeavors. The free tickets are only available until we fill up. Tickets are online and at the Clubhouse Activities Office. LARC CHRISTMAS PARTY All are invited to the Annual “Make it Merry” Christmas Event December 9 from 5:30 - 9:30 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom, an evening of holiday celebration and good food with friends! You will enjoy a full dinner by Catering Oasis, dance to the music of DJ Wayne, and take home something special — there will be door prizes for everyone. The menu includes your choice of salmon or sirloin steak (which you will designate when you select your ticket), salad, baked potato and dessert. Charm City will provide the cash bar. Purchase tickets at the Clubhouse Activities Office with a check payable to LARC. Members pay $30 per person and guests are $35. LA’S CRUISE-IN CAR SHOW Shine up that chrome, get those tires scrubbed, and rev those engines, it’s time for the Cruise-In again! Join us January 14 from 4 pm to 7 pm in the west parking lot of the Clubhouse to enjoy food trucks, classic and modern cars alike, and live music from Southbound. We will be judging cars and presenting the winners of each category with a prize. The categories are Best Classic (pre-1989), Best Modern (post-1989), and Crowd Favorite. Keep in mind attendee parking will only be available in the east parking lot and golf cart parking will be in the circle drive.
