LALGA PRESENTS THE PINK RIBBON BREAST CANCER GOLF TOURNAMENT CHILI/SOUP COOKOFF By David Harrison Registration began October 1 in the Pro Shop for the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Golf Tournament on November 9. Choose your foursome and sign up. Don’t have a foursome? Just sign up and members will be matched. It is only $30 per person to enter and that includes: the tournament fee, lunch, prize money and a donation to the Watson Clinic Foundation. Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets as there are over 150 raffle items. In addition, the silent auction contains some of the finest golf courses in the area as well as art, trips, and restaurants. You won’t want to miss out on placing a bid. Again, anyone in the community can buy raffles or bid on silent auction items, even if you do not play golf. Questions? Call Lydia Fichtman at 215-290-9375 or Kim Kutsch at 724-664-7988. Let’s make this year’s donation to the Watson Clinic Foundation even greater than before! The Kick Off to the Pink Ribbon Tournament is Saturday, November 6 from 4 to 6 pm at the Eagle’s Nest. It is open to all Lake Ashton residents. In addition to a DJ, food and drink, there will be a 50/50 closest to the pin chipping contest on 18 West. For every $5 you pay you can chip one ball. The person closest to the pin will share the pot. There will be a separate mat for women and men from which to chip. Clubs will be available if you don’t have any. So come on out, register early for the tournament, buy some raffle tickets and enjoy the fun. You may be the lucky winner! Grab your dancing shoes and get down to the HFC on November 7 from 7 to 10. The Rusty Trumpet Band will be performing and all proceeds from the dance will benefit the Watson Clinic Foundation, just like the golf tournament. There are 27 tables for the dance and each can hold 10 people. Please fill up your table so that we can donate as much as possible. 23 The LA Purple Stars will have a chili/soup cookoff as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society January 28, 2022 from 4 to 6 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. This event was held five years ago and was a great success. There will be chili, toppings, soup, cornbread, beverages and desserts! There will be a sign up sheet on November 1 at the Clubhouse Activities Desk for 16 chilis and four soups. Donations of baked good are also needed, individually wrapped for the "dessert" table, which will have a separate sign up sheet. Tickets will also go on sale on November 1 — 12 tickets for a $10 donation. Each cup of chili, soup, corn bread, drink & dessert is 1 ticket and all proceeds benefit the LA Purple Stars. Don't miss this chance to warm up with many varieties of chili & soup. There will be judges for the "best" chili and prizes awarded for first and second place. Questions? Call David Harrison 863-326-6418.
