LA PICKLEBALL By Coach Dennis Santino If you moved to Lake Ashton to have fun, get some exercise and meet great friends then you need to join the Lake Ashton Pickleball Association (LAPA). We are the second largest club in Lake Aston. Becoming a member, you will not only enjoy the fun on the courts you can also enjoy the fun and camaraderie with our frequent Pot Luck Family Fun Days. Our most recent was held on April 5 and as you can see by the picture, we really upped our game with our gold cup trophy! At the time of this writing, work has begun to increase the number of pickleball courts by 50%! By the time you are reading this article, we should be close to completion fo the new courts and planning our grand opening festivities. Don’t be left out! Join LAPA today by contacting any board member or sign up inside the HFC Club Activities board. Membership is only $12 a year. Hope to see you on the courts and remember my number one rule... Have Fun! FRIENDLY BOCCE GROUP By Stephanie Iszak All Lake Ashton residents are invited to come out on Mondays and Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm to play some fun games of Bocce Ball. No experience is required. Anyone who is playing would be more than happy to teach you and go over the Lake Ashton Friendly Bocce Ball rules and regulations. Our Friendly Bocce Tailgate parties for 2025 have ended. They will resume in January 2026. Our Friendly Bocce Tournament was held April 5, 2025. The tournament hosted sixteen teams (32 players) and was single elimination. The weather was beautiful, the games were exciting, and everyone had a great time. The Awards Dinner was held at Charm City on the patio. A big thank you to Jim & Kay Weaver for sponsoring the tournament again this year. The Winners were: 1st Place Jay Brooks / Larry Judd 2nd Place Steve Dhue / Bill Reibl 3rd Place Janet & Howard Kay CONGRATULATIONS to our winners, players and judges.
