GOLF CANADA VS USA By Roman Zakrajsek 2023 is the second year that a Saturday men’s golf group here in Lake Ashton has put on a Canada vs USA Golf Championship. Last year Team USA won and for 2023, Congratulations to Team Canada for winning. It’s a fun day and a great way to build friendships here in Lake Ashton. Huge Thanks to all the people that came out to watch us come in on the 18th hole. Lot’s of cheering and smiles were everywhere. That’s what it’s all about. It was great! BLUE MAN GROUP MURRAY ZACHARIA MEMBER/ MEMBER TOURNAMENT By Linda Zacharia On April 5 and 6, the Blue Man Group played their 3rd Annual Member Member Tournament honoring the memory of Murray Zacharia, founder of the BMG. The two days were enjoyed by all and many fond memories were shared. Congratulations to all the winners of not only the event, but of the year. Char Walter did an outstanding job distributing awards to all the years’ winners. This year’s Red Hoagland leaders are: Kathy Ryan $204.55, Beverly Hines $195.05, T Utting $192.55 and Pat Hodges $191.40. The Red Hoagland Challenge continues through the end of May. Keep up the good work ladies! At the year-end meeting it was announced that Lynn Abbott, treasurer and Dory Krogman, vice president will retain their positions for the next two years. They were voted in by the membership. In addition, the members polled increased the yearly dues to $35 beginning November 1. Weekly play remains at $3. No additional funds will be paid each week. Although, the season has ended, the fun has not. The LALGA will sponsor a twoday summer tournament the second week of July. (continued on p. 28)
