GOLF LAMGA By Paul Fichtman The LAMGA ended March with a great LAMGALALGA Joint Tournament followed by four weeks of well attended regular league play. As in past years, each month a list of sponsors who so generously supported the Member-Guest tournament will be published. This month the following medical providers and restaurants who sponsored holes are recognized and thanked: Eye Specialists of Mid Florida, Central Florida Dermatology – Dr. Foster, Jahna Chiropractic, Messieh Orthopedic Clinic, Lake Wales Family Restaurant, Olive Garden, Ovations, Schack’s Bar-B-Q, and Sizzling Grill. Please support these generous sponsors with your business! A list of all sponsors is posted both on the LAMGA web site and Lake Ashton Living as well as The Talk of Lake Ashton. Once again this year, one of the highlights throughout the season is the Red Hoagland Hyundai Challenge which awards four prizes in Pro Shop credits to the top 4 money winners for the year in our regular Wednesday events. The Leader Board through the end of March consists of Denis Mulhearn - $57.65; Brian Peck - $57.50; Doug Dudeck - $56.35; Mike Renaud - $55.25; Pat O’Neil - $54.75; Paul Guay - $53.55; Jim Ford - $52.00; Steve Morgan - $50.05; Paul Knaub – 45.25; and Chuck Hewitt - $44.75. The events for the month of May include: May 4 – Cinco de Mayo Pick Your Partner Event, Two Man Best Ball, Mexican Style Lunch is Included for all event participants; May 11 – Beat the Board – Best 3 Nets; May 18 – Six, Six, Six; and May 25 – Pick Your Partner – 9 Hole Shamble/9Hole Scramble. LALGA By Lydia Fichtman Congratulations to the new 2022-2024 President, Sue Larmon-Fitzgerald and Secretary Margie Dersham. The LALGA welcomes you to the board. A profound thank you to Vicki Andrew and Kim Kutsch for their dedication to the board and to the league during the last two years. Your undying commitment was unwavering. A mere thank you does not seem enough. The end of the year luncheon was a hit and many thanks goes out to the chair, Janis Baun and her committee. Additional thanks to Matt and his team at the Pro Shop and Vicki and her team at the Nest. Prizes and pins were awarded in all categories. What a wonderful year! The new season begins June 1 and the Red Hoagland Challenge will go from June 1 - May 31, 2023. The 2022 new Red Hoagland challenge top four money winners are 1st Place – Jan Kipp $109.70; 2nd Place – Carol Williams $109.03; 3rd Place – Patty Zakrajsek $108.95 and 4th Place – Deb Louder $103.20.
