LAIICDD NEWS By Mary Bosman, LAIICDD Community Director Many residents will be reading this newsletter from various locations throughout the United States and Canada, as Spring is officially here. The LA II CDD Board of Supervisors, staff and volunteers wish all residents safe travels, whether you’ll be going on short trips or visits further away from Lake Ashton. This is also the time of year when we begin our planning for events, shows and parties here at the HFC for the next 12 months. Our staff wants to provide opportunities that are representative of what our residents really want, not just what staff may think our residents want. If you’ve heard a great area entertainer/group in person or would like a specific themed party to be at the HFC, please let staff know your wishes. This can be done in person, but there will also be a suggestion box in the Activities Desk area for that purpose. Contact information on potential entertainment is always helpful. To add to the request, there will be complimentary tickets and a gift prize awarded if you are the first to suggest entertainment which works into the schedule. Maintenance has been busy painting in April. The black wrought iron fencing along Hwy. 653 is being repainted at the time of this writing, so it should be completed soon after this edition is published. Many, many hours of labor are involved in getting this huge project done and our Maintenance staff of James and Karen have done a great job. Our thanks to them both! Commercial Fitness will be getting a quote to the Board for the May 20th meeting regarding possible replacement of some of the equipment pieces in the Fitness Center at the HFC. Discussion by the LA II CDD Board on this and other important topics will occur at that time. This meeting begins at 9 AM in the Community Center as well as on Zoom.
