LA SWIM CLUB By Sandy White LA Swim Club members were glad to see the full operating hours resume at the HFC and are happy to be able to swim more on the weekends. The Senior Games group, having done very well in two competitions in 2020, are looking forward to competing in the Gainesville Senior Games in early Sept. and the Polk County Games in January. They continue to work together to improve and achieve their goals. Many do other fitness activities including: water exercise classes, dry land swim muscle strengthening exercises in one of the fitness centers, biking, running, walking, kayaking, strength exercises at home, etc. LASC offers three clinic/practices each week — Mondays at 6 pm, Wednesdays at 1:45 pm, Saturdays at 10 am. All LA residents are welcome. Come as much as you are able, some swimmers come to all three weekly sessions but others come once in a while. If training towards Senior Games isn't your thing, we welcome you and encourage you to use swimming as the best all-around fitness activity.
