EVENTS CHILI COOK-OFF By David Harrison Thank you to all the Lake Ashton residents who supported our January 23 Chili Cook-off. A total of $816 was raised for the American Cancer Society. Peggy Hitchcock sold tasting tickets, Joan Barron & Kerry Maag helped out at the bake table, Bradley Bartel signed up 16 chili cookers, Sandy Sarbaszewski helped to replenish cups, spoons & napkins for the chili cookers, Stan Barron & Barbara Harrison sold corn bread and Lance & Rita Baxter sold water. What a great LA Purple Stars team! The winners were: first place Ann & Garth Yando; second place James Akridge, and People’s Choice Gary McFall. The two raffle baskets with wine in each were won by Dave Bishop and Doris Reisinger and the beautiful quilt was won by Betty Davenport. Hope everybody had a good time and we'll be back next year.
