GENEALOGY CLUB MEETING By Jane Imparl There will be no formal meeting at the HFC for March 8. For those who signed up, we are going on a "field trip" to the Bartow Genealogy Library. TUESDAY PARTY BRIDGE By George Rogers The group had a very enjoyable time this January and February with lively discussions and analysis of a number of interesting hands. Jan. 31: Howard Mayne, Sil Wells, Chris Verges, and George Rogers. Feb. 7: George Rogers, Marge Kniat, John Sammons, and Nancy Golding. All new players are welcome. This party group consists of all levels of bridge players from beginners to experienced. The goal is for everyone have a chance to learn or to improve their play, all while having fun. Social time with snacks will be from 4 to 4:30 pm. Please bring your own beverage. The March speaker is Dr. Wayne Rodolfich, Superintendent of the Lake Wales Charter Schools. He will be reviewing the recent building projects and the strategic plan for the Lake Wales Charter System. He will also discuss the Read 20 campaign, multiple partnerships with businesses and local volunteers, the alignment of the school district, membership in the Lake Wales Charter Foundation, and the path forward. LA REPUBLICAN CLUB By Gary Johnson, President The Lake Ashton Republican Club will hold its annual Spaghetti Dinner on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the Eagles Nest. Dinner will start at 5:00 p.m.. Menu includes salad, spaghetti, sausage, peppers & onions, garlic bread and an ice cream bar. Tickets can be purchased at the Clubhouse. Seating is limited so get your tickets early.
