LACDD NEWS BY CHRIS TINE WELLS, LA (LW) CDD COMM U N I TY D I R E C T O R The year is more than half over already, but there are many more fun things to come! Be sure to check out the Events section on page 22 to read more about upcoming neighborhood activities including a Rock the Block Neighborhood Party and a traditional Oktoberfest featuring authentic German food and music. The back cover this month features the 2nd Annual Camp Lake Ashton week-long event. All activities are once again FREE OF CHARGE for everyone that signs up due to our amazing sponsors. This is a great chance to enjoy time with friends and neighbors and who knows, you may learn something new by joining in on the fun. There is never a shortage of fun at Lake Ashton! In addition to activities at Lake Ashton, residents have the chance to explore parts of Florida by signing up for Small World Tours day trips. Residents will have the opportunity to travel to Seminole Hard Rock Casino in August and to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater for The Price is Right in October. Visit the Clubhouse Activities Desk for more information. Small World Tours will present trips for 2022 in October, so stay tuned for more information to come. Supervisors met on July 19 and a wrap up report was sent out via email blast on July 22. Residents who did not receive this report are encouraged to reach out to Christine Wells, LACDD Community Director, to receive a copy. The budget hearing is set for August 16 in the Clubhouse Ballroom. Lake Wales residents should have received a mailed notice to inform them of the proposed increase for Fiscal Year 2022 (September 30, 2021 - October 1, 2022). Please note the assessment amount is not final and will be voted on at the budget hearing. It will not surpass a total of $1969 for the year (an increase of $94). If you live in Lake Wales and did not receive this notice or have questions regarding the notice please contact Governmental Management Services at 407- 841-5524 and identify yourself as a Lake Ashton resident and they will be happy to assist. LACDD BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CONTA C T INFO Staff at the Clubhouse and HFC work hard everyday to ensure residents live their best retirement life at Lake Ashton.
