New members and new players are always welcomed. The best time to come out to meet people is 8 through 10 am, Monday through Saturday. During Open Play you can watch, chat, and when you are ready, get into a friendly game. Just walk in and people will introduce themselves, answer your questions, and help you break the ice. Now that it's summer, more players are looking at playing before 8 am. We are using the TeamReach app so that players can see who is coming out at 7 am each day. The LAPA Social Committee facilitated a Mixed Play event on Memorial Weekend and as usual everyone had a great time. On July 11 the LAPA Social Committee will facilitate an America 250 Mixed Play Event. Sign up at the HFC on the sheet near the Pickleball mailbox on the hallway wall. FRIENDLY BOCCE GROUP By Joann Hartline "I came, I saw, I bocceed.” The side walls and backboards have been replaced on the courts! Thanks to all who were involved in this endeavor. All Lake Ashton residents and guests are welcome each week to join us at the bocce courts! We play Monday and Friday from 10 am to noon. Now that the weather is heating up we may start and end a little earlier. There are umbrellas for a little shade but remember to bring water to keep yourself hydrated. Please know you are welcome to join at anytime. If you have never played or it's been a while since you played no worries, we are more than happy to teach you the game. LA PEBBLES & PINES SOCIAL CLUB By Jill Groves On June 4, Social Club members Anne Franc, Marie McCracken & Tammy Hundley presented Kathy & Cowboy Everly of "A Heart for Heroes" at the Rockin W Ranch with a check for $1370, not $1270 as printed on the check. These funds were raised at our First Annual Kentucky Derby Fundraiser Party and our Derby Hat Decorating Party. Thank you to all who donated and contributed their time to making this event a success. We are actively looking for sponsors for our next fundraiser which will be on May 1, 2027. Save the Date!
