The seasonal weather encourages rapid plant growth and creates a vibrant summer landscape throughout the community. Staying hydrated is especially important. Whether you are walking, exercising outdoors, or joining indoor activities, drinking enough water can help prevent heat-related illness and support your overall well-being. July is also a time to be aware of severe weather changes, and although NOAA is predicting a below-average hurricane season for 2026, residents should be prepared. A helpful pamphlet about Polk County public shelters, including a 7-day disaster supply kit list and other valuable information is available at the HFC. Stop by for your copy and stay safe. July will start off with a bang in our community with a week-long 4th of July celebration. Be sure to check the June LA Times which provides a list of all the fun activities planned and be sure to watch the 4th of July parade featuring golf carts in their patriotic decorations, special VIPs from both Lake Wales and Winter Haven and a few surprises. The parade begins at 10 AM and will end up at the HFC where there will be a festive Food Truck rally with BBQ, hot dogs with your favorite toppings, Philly cheese steak sandwiches, cool and refreshing Italian ice and an ice-cream truck with all your delicious ice-cream treats. Please mark your calendar for the Lake Ashton II Community Development District (LA 2 CDD) meeting on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 9:00 AM in the Community Center. This meeting is a valuable opportunity to stay informed about district matters, participate in discussions, and connect with fellow residents. Your involvement helps support the continued growth and well-being of the Lake Ashton community. LAVA’s 4th of July 250th USA Anniversary commemorative coin is also available at the HFC and will be available for sale during the Patriotic Dance featuring Lake Ashton house band Perfect Pitch. We hope you will join us for this memorable community celebration. It promises to be a special occasion and a wonderful opportunity to come together and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime event.
