We are however reminded of the real reason to celebrate Independence Day, as the birth of America. Across the United States small cities to large metropolitan areas also celebrate with parades, festivals, and concerts with most ending in a festive display of fireworks, a favorite for children and adults alike. If you are among those who prefer to stay at home, there are plenty of activities taking place in both Lake Wales and Winter Haven. To find out about activities and events in your neighborhood visit https://polkcountymoms.com/fourth-of-julyevents-in-and-around-polk-county-florida/. Here at Lake Ashton the Clubhouse and the HFC are set to kick off the month of July with Camp Lake Ashton. Residents can participate in a Co-Ed Corn Hole Tournament at the HFC on July 1 or test your ping pong skills at the HFC’s Ping Pong Tournament on July 2. You can also join in on the fun at Lorrie’s line dance class at the HFC on July 3rd. For details on Camp Lake Ashton events, please visit the activities desk at the Clubhouse and the HFC. We wish our Lake Ashton residents a memorable, safe, and fun 4th of July. The HFC continues with fun activities, beginning on July 11 with the BeatlesBeat tribute band playing at the HFC. This wellknown band has played throughout the U.S. in popular venues including Disney’s Epcot, then Carlos and Company, a popular duo who have performed at Lake Ashton on many occasions will be at the HFC on July 25. Watch for emails or stop by the HFC activities desk with all the details on these two events. A big thank you to those LA residents who have registered their golf carts and received their new golf cart stickers (for accountability, safety, and visibility). You may register your golf cart, at the HFC, Monday through Friday from 10 am to 3 pm. The deadline to do so is July 31. 10
