GOLF LA NINERS By Marti Schmidt Back by popular demand: BlueMan Niners 4-Person scramble Par-3 ringer tournament with lunch on Wednesday. Whew, that was a mouthful! Even with the summer heat upon us, this par-3 tailored event is super fun and plays fast. If you forgot to sign-up, HURRY! We gathered items for the Senior Orphans last month, and once again the Niners delivered! Many thanks for your support of such a worthy cause assisting or seniors in Polk County. Still have questions? Ready to join? Contact Denise at denisepops23@aol.com for more info! LALGA By Jackie Tressler The LALGA congratulates our Red Hoagland Winners! First Place: T Utting Second Place Tie: Patti Panone, Kathy Ryan Fourth Place: Bev Hines The competition was extremely close this year with $1 separating First and Fourth place. We thank Red Hoagland for their continued support and look forward to our new challenge! Our continued purpose of the LALGA is to promote interest in golf among women players, encourage competition, and provide opportunities for fellowship. Every Tuesday in League play we focus on the first two of those goals. On the second Tuesday of each month, we focus on the third goal, fellowship, after League play at our monthly luncheon. It provides members with an opportunity to meet new members, relax a bit and interact with each other in a purely social setting while enjoying a nice lunch and a cold beverage. We encourage all members to participate in our Summer Tropics Tournament on July 10 and 11 with our luncheon in the Eagles Nest on the 11th. Show your tropical attire and come out for two days of fun and camaraderie! 26 In closing, the LALGA welcomes Dawn Neigh to our board as the new Publicity Chair. Please send a huge thanks to Dawn for taking on the responsibility of this role and promoting our league throughout our community. Stay hydrated and remember — for the summer, 9 hole sign up is available!
