LAMGA By David Kubissa As the 2024 season rolled to a close, members gathered for golf and the annual meeting and luncheon on December 4. President Rolly Geyer reported at the meeting that the board had three nominations, all from incumbents, for the three open board positions up for election. Rolly, Dan Baun and David Kubissa were all returned to serve two-year terms without opposition. During LAMGA’s monthly business meeting following the annual meeting, the board approved purchase of golf towels for the 2025 members and set up a Season Opener luncheon in conjunction with the January 29 LAMGA game. The menu will be hot dogs, chili and all the fixings. The board also set January 30, 2025 as the deadline for teams to sign up for the Member-Guest tournament. Forms and communications for that event will be forthcoming this month. Above: LAMGA members gather for a lunch and annual meeting in the Eagle’s Nest. Those winners were featured in the December LAMGA article. A new season for the Red Hoagland Challenge begins Jan. 1 and concludes October 31, 2025. Treasurer Dan Baun reported that the league’s financial balance sheet was in good shape as LAMGA heads into the new year. He noted that the annual dues would go to $35 effective February 1 and encouraged members to beat the increase by enrolling in the 2025 season no later than January 31. It also was announced that fees for the MemberGuest tournament March 6-8 would be $200 per player in 2025. 45
