SPAGHETTI SOCIAL Join friends and neighbors for a casual Spaghetti Social January 5 from 4 to 6:30 pm in the Clubhouse! For $10 you will get a delicious plate of spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, and a cannoli. Purchase tickets at the Clubhouse Activities Desk with Visa, MasterCard, or check payable to LACDD. CELEBRATE AT THE HFC! Tables for Happy Hour Karaoke January 7 and the Disco Fever Party January 21 at the HFC are available for reservation at the HFC Activities Desk for $10 per table (cash/checks only). DJ Wayne will be providing karaoke for the Happy Hour event, and he will also be spinning tunes from the 1970s for the disco party (costumes are encouraged, but not required). For both events, you can BYOB and snacks. Tickets for entry will be $10 at the door on the nights of the events (cash/ checks only). Stop by the HFC Activities Desk during regular business hours of 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday to get your table reserved. Come join in on the fun! SPORTS TRIVIA Gather a team of no more than eight for Sports Trivia January 12 at 6:30 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. Come up with great team name and see who the real sports buffs are. Sign up at the Clubhouse Activities Desk or the online sign-up form. LAKE ASHTON’S AMAZING GOLF CART RACE It’s not just a race or a competition … it’s a challenge! Meet at the Clubhouse at noon on January 27 and race against time and complete challenges, just like the Amazing Race on TV. Tasks will be a combination of recreational, mental, and observational. Something all ages and genders 28 can do and enjoy. Communication and working together is the key for teams to see who will win the ultimate golf cart challenge. All teams will face the same challenges but will not be doing them simultaneously so you won’t know how your team is doing until the end. The race should last about two hours after a brief instructional meeting. There are prizes for top finishing teams. The challenge is limited to 16 teams, so sign up early at the Clubhouse Activities Desk. Teams can be two to four members. Sign up as a team, or an individual to be placed on a team. 10TH ANNUAL HEALTH EXPO The 10th Annual Health Expo will be hosted at the HFC on January 28 from 8 am to 2 pm. Come explore the different areas of expertise by local doctors and companies right here in the Polk County area. There will be a range of different doctors and companies that can help you with your health needs. CHILI COOK-OFF By David Harrison Cooks are needed for the Chili Cook-off sponsored by the LA Purple Stars team on January 28 from 4 to 6 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom! Sign up at the Clubhouse Activities Desk. Donations of baked goods are also needed, individually wrapped for the "dessert" table. Tasting tickets can be purchased at the Activities Desk. Each cup of chili, soup, corn bread, drink & dessert is one ticket and all proceeds benefit the LA Purple Stars and the American Cancer Society. Don't miss this chance to warm up with many varieties of chili and soup. There will be judges for the "best" chili and prizes awarded for first and second place. Questions?
