Lake Ashton is fortunate to have two facilities to offer a plethora of entertainment and educational opportunities designed to maintain an active, engaging lifestyle. Take a look at pages 35 — 39, in addition to the calendar inserts for information on the current activities, events, and classes at the Clubhouse and Health and Fitness Center (HFC). The Lake Ashton Activities Advisory Group recently welcomed a new member and continues to meet on a monthly basis to evaluate past events and assist staff with planning future events and activities at the Clubhouse and the HFC. Suggestions for entertainment, educational classes, and activities are always welcomed and are evaluated by the group at each meeting. If you have any suggestions for programming or constructive feedback on past events and activities, please reach out to LACDD Community Director Christine Wells at cwells@lakeashtoncdd.com or LAIICDD Community Director Karen Van Kirk at kvankirk@lakeashton2cdd.com. LACDD Supervisors met on January 26 to attend to community matters. Supervisors discussed the Restaurant at Lake Ashton and asked that staff issue a Request for Proposals for Restaurant and Catering services at the Clubhouse. The Board ratified the contract with Nation Security for Security Services at Lake Ashton (Lake Wales). Supervisors approved of installing an automatic door opener at the west entrance to the Ballroom. There was discussion regarding solar street lights and options to renew the current TECO agreement. Additional information will be presented at the February 23 Board of Supervisors meeting. Residents are encouraged to attend meetings to get first hand information on community issues and projects. Please visit lakeashtoncdd.com for meeting dates and Supervisor contact information. During this busy time of year staff is working hard to ensure the level of customer service residents are accustomed to is not affected by the increase in workload. Please be patient if you encounter lines at the Activities Office or Clubhouse Office. Staff works hard to give each resident a personalized experience and sometimes that takes a little time. Residents can visit the Clubhouse or HFC to receive clerical services, including faxing, scanning, copying, and notary services. Please remember tickets to LACDD (Lake Wales) sponsored events, and most Club events, can be purchased online, now. Please follow the links sent out via email blast, to purchase tickets. 8
