LA NINERS By Sandy Hockenberry With the holiday season behind us, it’s time to concentrate on golf and having fun. The niners have two upcoming tournaments to look forward to, please sign up at the Pro Shop. At our holiday celebration this year, Statistician, Dot Bothwell presented winners of the Birdies, Eagles, Hole-in-One, Chips-ins and Most Improved contest. Winners pictured below are: Nancy Collina, Nancy Scali, Denise Lacaprucia, and Linda Reardon. Missing is Claudia Loesel. Games for February include: February 3: Tiara-Tutu Tuesday Step Aside Scramble. Polish your tiara and fluff up your tutu ladies. Come enjoy a fun day playing a step aside scramble. All players tee off on every hole. The player whose drive is chosen has to “Step-Aside” and not hit the next shot. This format continues until the ball is holed. Low Net score wins. (team game) February 10: 4-Person Par 3 Scramble. Each player hits a tee shot from the orange flags, choose the best shot and everyone plays from there. Repeat until the ball is holed. (team game) February 16 and 17: Pick Your Partner 2-Day Ringer. Lunch, at the Eagles Nest following golf on day 2. Two player teams play individual game on day one, the teams, play the same holes on day two and try to improve the score for that hole. Low gross, low net and most improved wins. (team game) February 24: Individual Low Putts or Individual High Putts. Lowest number of putts in flight wins, OR highest number of putts in flight wins.
