David and other club members teach candidates who want certification and he proctors exams for those testing for amateur licenses. Since 1987, he has enjoyed speaking to ham radio operators from all over the world. David is a certified member of CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). He was the local coordinator of the Polk County Sheriff's Office Citizen's Assisted Patrol.
