As more residents come back to meet their exercise and weight goals, it is important to remember that flu season is here. To help protect yourself and those around you, here are a few practical ways you can help keep yourself healthy and others as well: Practice good sanitation by washing your hands regularly. The HFC also has hand sanitizing stations throughout the building to minimize the risk of transferring germs. Listen to your body and ensure you are getting the amount of sleep you need to stay healthy, choose healthy foods that nourish your body. Regular physical activity has been shown to reduce the likelihood of getting sick, and there are plenty of fun exercise classes at the HFC to help in this regard. Keep your routine enjoyable by mixing things up and at the first sign of a cold or flu, many doctors suggest taking a Zinc supplement. February promises to be a busy month at the HFC, with a range of exciting activities and events planned for the community. February 6, join us for an evening of live music featuring the band Haines City Limit. The performance will take place at the HFC from 6 to 9 pm. You can reserve a table in advance at the HFC or pay at the door to enjoy the show. Celebrate Mardi Gras on February 17 with our special Fat Tuesday event, featuring music by D.J. Wayne. “Laissez les bons temps rouler” aka let the good times roll and join in on the festivities HFC-style. You can reserve a table in advance or pay at the door. Dance at 4 to 7 pm. February 19, save the date for the upcoming LA 2 CDD Board of Supervisors meeting at 9 am. February 24, we are pleased to host an Educational Seminar with Rebecca Player from the Winter Haven Library. The session, titled “Stories Worth Saving: Tips for Organizing Photos and Sharing Memories,” will offer valuable advice on how to organize your photographs and preserve your cherished memories. The Educational Seminar will begin at 1 pm. You may sign up at the HFC Activities Desk or call 863-595-1562 to sign up by phone. As we embark on the new year, the HFC extends its warmest wishes to all residents of our community. We hope everyone enjoys a happy and healthy 2026. May this year bring you success in your wellness journey and fulfillment in your personal goals. Together, let us continue to support one another and make this year our best yet. 10
