LALGA By Beverly Hines February is known as the month of love because it includes Valentine's Day, a day to express love and affection. For LALGA, it is the Month of Love & Friendship & Golf. If you are not already a member, we encourage you to join in the fun & fellowship. The LALGA We-Care-for-Kids Committee is holding one more charity drive this season. From 1/27 to 2/4/2025 they collect travel-size deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion, lip balm and feminine hygiene products. They deliver them to the local High School Nurses who provide the toiletries to the students who need them. Please continue the generosity demonstrated in our recent Food & Toy Drives to help these students ease the burdens of their current situations by bringing some travel size toiletries to the Pro Shop January 27 - February 4, 2025. It’s a great way to begin the new year! Thanks much, We-Carefor-Kids Committee Games for February: Feb 4 – Individual Play; Feb 10 – 11 – Member-Member Tournament with the theme “Hearts and Carts” with lunch after play on second day (NO online registration, sign-up and pay by check in Pro Shop); Feb 18 – Team Play; Feb 25 – “Beat” the Pro – Pick Your Own Partner Play. Check the bulletin board in the Pro Shop for more information and to sign up or, when available, register online at the LALGA Golf Registration at the LA Living website. Blue Team Wins Lake Ashton’s Solheim Tournament - The annual Solheim Tournament at Lake Ashton concluded with an impressive victory for the Blue Team! This year’s competition brought out exceptional talent and teamwork as players battled it out over two days of intense golf. In a closely fought contest, the Blue Team displayed remarkable consistency and strategic play, edging out the Red Team for a well-earned triumph. Despite the Red Team’s determined efforts and strong individual performances, they couldn’t match the Blue Team’s cohesion and resilience on the greens. The spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition among players made the tournament a resounding success. A special thanks goes to the organizers and participants who ensured everything ran smoothly. We look forward to another exciting Solheim Tournament at Lake Ashton next year. Mur Bouman, Committee Chair Mark your calendars and plan to play in the March 11th West vs East Partner Match Play with lunch after play.
