LA TRIVIA - TIME AND LOCATION CHANGES! By David Fix Trivia will be held on February 5 from 7 to 9 pm in the Restaurant, and February 19 and March 5 from 4 to 6 pm in the Ballroom. Maximum number of players per team is eight. Individuals are encouraged to come and join an open table. Cost is $1 per person to play with all money returned to the top three teams. Three rounds of 10 questions will be played along with one final bonus question. Please come early as it will start promptly at 7 pm. BYOB! BYOSnacks! TRASH TO TREASURE SALE By Diane Dillon, Publicity Chair Blankets of Love at Lake Ashton (BOLLA), is pleased to announce the Trash to Treasure Sale will be March 17 and 18. The popular sale, held every other year, will be open to residents only on Friday, March 17, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Clubhouse Ballroom. On Saturday, March 18, from 8 am to 2 pm, it will be open to the public. Residents are welcome to come on Saturday as well. No tickets are required for the event on Friday. However, a limited number of ‘Fast Pass’ tickets will be sold for residents wishing to enter the sale via a priority line on Friday night. Tickets go on sale on February 27 for $5 with a check made payable to BOLLA. Trash to Treasure is a great way to pick up that special item and to support a wonderful organization serving Polk county’s children in crisis. A variety of items including furniture, jewelry, sports equipment, décor, kitchenware, framed art, craft supplies, linens and more will be available. There will also be a raffle for a Lottery Tree with $100 worth of assorted lottery tickets. In the past few years, BOLLA has consistently donated over 1000 blankets per year to organizations such as Guardian Ad Litem, Boys and Girls at Risk Groups, Pregnancy centers, over 10 schools, and more. All proceeds from Trash to Treasure are used to buy material and supplies to make additional blankets. BOLLA will accept items for the sale on March 14 from 10 am to 1 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm, March 15 from 10 am to 1 pm and 5 to 8 pm, and March 16 from 11 am to 4 pm. Anyone who would like to donate gently used items may bring them to the Clubhouse Ballroom at these times. BOLLA is unable to accept clothing, electronics, TV’s, computers, printers, phones, books or Christmas decorations. BOLLA is a 501c charity. All donations are tax deductible. Payments must be in the form of cash or check. Any unsold items from Trash to Treasure will be donated to the Lake Wales Care Center. There are several ways to support BOLLA: • Donate gently used treasures March 14 – 16. • Come to the sale and find new treasures on March 17 and/or 18. • Buy raffle tickets for the Lottery Tree. You do not need to be present to win. • Make a monetary donation to BOLLA with a check payable to BOLLA at the Clubhouse Activities Office.
