LACDD NEWS By Christine Wells, LA (LW) CDD Community Director Lake Ashton is at peak population and staff is enjoying hearing laughter throughout the Clubhouse as residents welcome back those gone for the winter and others that have not been back to their Lake Ashton home in two years! Residents are enjoying seeing Entertainment Series shows that have been on hold since March 2020 and are excited to get back to some of the activities that are just now starting back. Staff is working hard to ensure a robust activity schedule is available for those who want to get out and enjoy time with friends and neighbors. In this edition of the LA Times, residents will find classes, entertainment shows, themed parties and more to celebrate the season. There is even a special Valentine's Day Dinner at Ashton Tap and Grill on Monday, February 14 from 4 to 8 pm (reservations only). Please remember, hand sanitizer, masks and gloves are always available for residents when attending any event or activity at the Clubhouse. With being at peak population please remember parking can sometimes be difficult when attending certain events. Golf carts should be parked with both wheels touching the curb when in the circular drive. Carpooling is also encouraged to help maximize parking during large events. Additional golf cart parking is available on the basketball court during high attendance events. Please be on the lookout for signage directing residents to this area. Supervisors and staff would like to welcome Debby Landgrebe to the Lake Ashton Board of Supervisors. She was appointed to fill seat 4 at the January 24 Board of Supervisors meeting. The board also approved of the replacement of paver walkway lights on the pathway west of the Clubhouse main entrance and the installation of surge protectors to help prevent future damages. A wrap-up report of additional actions taken at the meeting was sent out on January 26. The next Board of Supervisors meeting will be held on Monday, February 28 at 9:30 am in the Clubhouse Ballroom.
